Day 306
It had been a few weeks since Bill and June spoke to Helen, but day 306 was about to become a day they would never forget. Helen told them about Sprout. They were 4 months old and had been in foster since around few days old. Their story was one Bill and June felt comfotable with, and immediately they wre just excited about getting to meet them and possibly moving forward.
Helen was hoping Sprout could be placed with Bill and June under an early permanence placement due to their age. However timings worked against them, a court hearing that confirmed a placement order for Sprout was made before an early permanance moved could be made. In it's way Bill and June understood that this was a good thing, because Sprouts placement order was granted it meant the plan for them was now confirmed to be adoption, removing the risk associated with early permanence. Unfortuantely through this meant the traditional adoption process would need to be followed, and that process would be slower and it was likely to be another 2-3 months before Sprout would be able to move in with them.
As you might expect, they were both very excited to meet Sprout, and welcome them into their family. The waiting on next teps was probably the most impatient they felt throughout the entire process. A this stage they had just one low quality photograph of Sprout and were hoping to be connected to their foster carer soon.
